Should I upgrade to AutoDirector 1.7?

The main new feature in AutoDirector 1.7 is the data import wizard. This allows you to instantly import vehicle details and images from any system that produces a CSV (comma-separated values) file.

A few more settings are also available in autodirector.ini. The most useful is TITLE: this allows you to brand your AutoDirector control panel with any name you like, e.g. TITLE="Acme Autos"

The upgrade process requires you to modify your current autodirector.ini file. Upgrading is recommended if you're happy to do that and will make use of these new features.

Please read the upgrade instructions carefully and backup your existing files and database!

Thanks for telling me about the TITLE option - have implemented that as I wish to pass on the admin of the cars to a client salesman. However - is it possible to cover up the autodirector link at the bottom totally for non admin users? I guess this is a grey area around the licence.

Obviously, we'd prefer you kept it in. We've had some cases where clients have lost contact with their web developer but have managed to keep trading because we helped them out.

If you're installing a licensed version for a single client, then we're not going to stop you removing the notice. All we ask is that you don't re-sell the software as your own or release a mod that removes the copyright notice.
